Finance Manager – Valuation, Treasury, Accounting & Tax (Private Equity)

We are seeking a driven & detail-oriented professional at Manager / Senior Manager level with desire to learn the complexities of a Private Equity finance framework on a global scale. The position is wide-ranging, oversees direct reports and the advancement opportunities are plentiful.

  • Team Structure: position is part of a robust & growing team – overseeing 1-2 direct reports, reporting to one of the Directors and working closely with several peer level Managers, as well team leadership (Directors / VPs / CFO) on larger scale deliverables and ad hoc projects to enhance the department and company operations.
  • Broad responsibilities:
    • Oversight over several Analysts / Senior Analysts – training, deliverable review / feedback, employee development & mentorship
    • Valuation support in collaboration with front office Deal Team to prepare quarterly valuations of portfolio companies.
    • Performance, waterfall and hurdle analysis, including scenarios for executive presentations.
    • Partnering with Investor Relations to prepare materials for fundraising projects.
    • Review of quarterly and annual financial statements for assigned Private Equity Funds, including profit & loss allocations, vesting and carry calculations. Understanding & supporting new deal closings and harvest transactions.
    • Treasury projects around cash flow management, stock distributions, capital calls, banking activity.
    • Collaboration with internal tax team on implications of complex investment transactions & quarterly tax estimates and annual tax returns for investment partnerships, including tracking and review of K-1 activity & compliance-based partnership agreement analysis.

Qualifications:

  • CPA / Master’s Degree preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant experience (either at investment companies or in public accounting with similar client base – either audit or tax)
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Project management skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential
  • Strong Excel skills, other experience with tools such as Alteryx and ability to learn new systems is very helpful
  • Can do attitude, excellent communication skills with desire to learn!
