About the Role
The Senior Associate will oversee accounting, reporting, valuations, and financial operations for a portfolio of direct real estate investments. This individual will serve as the primary finance contact for assigned joint venture partners and internal investment teams, providing insights on financial results, valuations, and key transactions.
You will manage the monthly and quarterly close cycles, contribute to valuation materials, review property-level financial packages, evaluate capital activity, and support fund-level reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a group of real estate investments.
- Review monthly property-level reporting packages and quarterly fair value analyses.
- Engage with joint venture partners on operating results, budgets, and transactions.
- Analyze internal valuations and external appraisal support; prepare valuation materials.
- Review promote calculations, management fees, capital calls, and distribution notices.
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement reviews with the fund administrator.
- Prepare weekly fund cash availability analyses and evaluate loan draws/repayments.
- Support coordination with Investment, Portfolio Analytics, Tax, and Legal teams.
- Participate in fund-level audits and review annual property budgets.
- Maintain integrity of portfolio accounting systems and general ledger records.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience within real estate, investment management, or public accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to interact with senior stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
- Naturally curious, proactive, and intellectually bright.
