Mass. high court orders new trial over messy law-firm breakup

David Governo had accused six one-time lawyers at the now-defunct Governo Law Firm of illegally taking client data, firm research and other valuable information just before they left to start their own outfit, CMBG3 Law LLC. Governo won a $900,000 judgment, but appealed a judge’s instruction to the jury. With the SJC’s ruling, he could now potentially win more damages.
