Janey launches task force to review nonprofit PILOT programs

Boston Mayor Kim Janey on Monday announced the city plans to create a task force to review and update the city’s voluntary payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) program for Boston’s wealthiest charitable institutions. The task force’s first charge will be to improve the community benefits component of the PILOT program, which currently encompasses a wide variety of non-monetary contributions.
