Coalition launches amid battle over benefits for Uber, Lyft workers

Earlier this year, a coalition of nonprofits and big tech companies launched in Massachusetts to support ride-share and delivery drivers who want to maintain their status as independent contractors. Now the voices in favor of the other side of the debate, advocating for local gig workers being recognized as employees, have organized around their own coalition as the debate over gig workers continues to receive global attention.
