Ginkgo Bioworks CEO touts lofty vision in first-ever earnings call

In the company’s first earnings call as a soon-to-be-publicly traded firm after its merger with a special-purpose acquisition company, Ginkgo Bioworks’ CEO and co-founder Jason Kelly didn’t spend most of his time focused on finances. Rather, he spent much of the call explaining to analysts the business model for the 12-year-old biotech company in terms more appropriate for a technology startup.
