Could Northampton see a limit on cannabis shops? City council will decide

After a marathon session that stretched nearly four hours, a Northampton City Council subcommittee found itself deadlocked Monday night on a proposed limit to the number of cannabis dispensaries in the city. As it stands, the Northampton dispensary landscape is one of the most populated in the state — and not just for a city of its size. With 29,000 residents, Northampton has 11 operating dispensaries. Boston and Worcester each have about a dozen, according to state regulators.
