Mass. mandates insurers cover medically necessary telehealth services

The escalating number of cases has prompted Baker to issue a number of public orders under his state of emergency declaration, including that all commercial insurers and the Group Insurance Commission — which provides health insurance for 460,000 state employees and their family — cover all medically necessary telehealth services in the same manner and to pay the same rates as in-person services.
