A Boston initiative to increase supplier diversity graduates first cohort

In 2021, a disparity study commissioned by the City of Boston found that very few city contracts were being awarded to minority and women-owned businesses—and less than 1% went to Black-owned businesses. GrowBoston!, a partnership between the City of Boston and nonprofit Interise, aimed addressing the issue just graduated its first cohort.
