Businesses near Mass and Cass sign onto BID plan to bring much-needed help

After a years-long effort, organizers have gathered enough support among property owners in and near Newmarket Square to establish a business improvement district. The plan is to raise millions of dollars annually for a shared security force, shuttle buses and street cleaning.
