Demand hits ‘another orbit’ at Boston’s only Black-owned bookstore

Frugal Bookstore is receiving thousands of book orders — hundreds per title — as demand for books on race and titles by Black authors has skyrocketed. With the amount of support and orders pouring in, Leonard Egerton and his wife called on their family for the “all hands on deck” situation, and they’ve hired a couple of people from the community as well. “This is what we call a good problem to have,” Egerton said.
