Dorchester’s Carney Hospital is nation’s first dedicated to coronavirus patients

Steward Health Care said Tuesday that it will designate Carney Hospital in Dorchester to the treatment of patients infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus in what it said was the first such designation in the U.S. A spokesman for Steward said that one ward is up and running as of Tuesday, although there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 there yet.
