Assistant Controller – Accounts Payable ($240k+ package)

We are searching for an Assistant Controller to support the Accounts Payable function at a Leading Private Equity Firm that offers work-life balance and a strong compensation package. The position will oversee a team of 2-3 direct reports with oversight of ~8 total employees.

Broad Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision: Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to long-term strategic planning, implement processing efficiencies, and monitor progress toward business goals
  • Team Development & Relationship Management: Build strong relationships across management teams, manage and mentor team members, and promote a growth-oriented work environment
  • Policies & Process Improvements: Oversee policies and procedures, ensure compliance, and lead continuous process enhancements, including system upgrades and automation
  • Risk Management & Reporting: Mitigate financial risks, oversee accounts payable, manage payment systems, and collaborate with corporate teams on financial close processes and reporting

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a nationally recognized college/university
  • 8 – 20 years of private/public general accounting (private preferred)
  • Proven track record of success in a managerial role within a complex, multinational organization, with experience in accounts payable, expense management, and supplier relations
  • Experience with ERP transformations a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, focused on continuous improvement in fast-paced environments
  • Builds trust and collaboration across diverse personalities, fostering highly functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail – required
