Controller – rapidly growing technology company! (100% remote)

Controller (Head of Accounting, Financial Reporting and Revenue Management)

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Controller to oversee all accounting, financial reporting and revenue operations for a PE backed rapidly growing technology company. The role will report directly into the CFO and will oversee a team of 2 direct reports.

Highlights:

The company is HQ in Boston and offers excellent flexibility. The position is 100% remote, however there is a preference for the hired individual to be based in New England as the CFO would like to meet in-person on a monthly basis.

The position will report into an excellent leader who was recruited into the company a few months ago after scaling their last technology company for the past 7 years. There is a plethora of interesting projects on the docket in addition to managing the day-to-day of the accounting function.

The business is dynamic, and the clients using this technology are some of the most marquee names the business & sports world!

Responsibilities will include preparation of financial statements, financial reporting, managing external audits, overseeing the operational accounting functions (AP, AR, Billing, Payroll), treasury & cash management, overseeing all accounting, tax and regulatory compliance, managing the relationship with outside CPA firm, driving efficiencies through automation and streamlining accounting processes (NetSuite ERP). The position will also oversee the revenue management function and should be comfortable reading through client contracts to determine proper revenue recognition (per ASC 606 Revenue accounting rules).

The company is within a private equity ownership structure, thus it will be important to build out the accounting capabilities (processes, systems, policies / procedures, organization and compliance) to support the company’s growth and provide accounting guidance related to proposed transactions to support due diligence, special transactions and investment related accounting needs.

Qualifications:

1. CPA
2. 12+ years of relevant accounting experience.
3. Technology industry experience with understanding of Revenue Recognition and Contracts Management.
4. Prior experience with due diligence / understanding of private equity ownership structure requirements – valued
5. NetSuite ERP experience
6. Excellent communication and business partnering skills
