State selects winning development bid for parcel near South Station

A pair of minority-owned development firms have won a bid to build laboratory space and housing on a prime state-owned piece of land in downtown Boston. The proposal would add hundreds of housing units to downtown Boston — almost 40% of them affordable — and more than 300,000 square feet of lab space. MassDOT used the ‘Massport model’ to make its selection.
