Boston AI company Affectiva to be acquired for $73.5M

Affectiva’s acquisition comes shortly after several Massachusetts tech businesses announced merger and acquisition deals. This year, online liquor store Drizly Inc., speech recognition firm Nuance Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: NUAN) and sales tax management system TaxJar Inc. were acquired by, respectively, Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE: UBER), Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Stripe Inc.
