Colleges rely on downtown hotels to allow ‘de-densification’ of students this fall

Five local institutions have received city approval to house more than 2,000 students in nine hotels across the city, helping colleges spread out tight dorm space amid the pandemic while giving hotels a boost as they struggle with low occupancy rates.
