Headcount at newspaper chain Gannett fell by 13% in 2019

The largest newspaper chain in both Massachusetts and the U.S., Gannett Co., had 3,000 fewer employees at the end of 2019 than its two pre-merger companies had a year earlier, a decrease of 12.7%.
