PerkinElmer spends $5.3B on its sixth acquisition this year

Life sciences giant PerkinElmer Inc. (NYSE: PKI) is making yet another acquisition, this time the biggest in its history, buying San Diego, Calif.-based BioLegend for $5.25 billion in cash and stock.
