Study: Nonfatal gun injuries have a ‘significant economic cost’ to employers
A Harvard Medical School professor has calculated that nonfatal gun injuries have a significant economic cost: $30,000 in direct health care spending per survivor in the first year alone. An estimated 85,000 people in the United States survive a firearm injury every year, and each of them ends up racking up 400% more in health care spending compared to people who do not suffer such an injury.
