Director of Accounting – Financial Reporting & Consolidations

We are searching for a Director of Accounting – Financial Reporting & Consolidations to lead the US GAAP transition and global consolidation efforts for the management company finance function of a global Private Equity firm. The position is highly visible and will partner closely with finance leadership while driving technical accounting, systems integration, and audit processes.

- Team Structure: Position is part of a 35 person corporate finance & accounting team, will collaborate with Directors across North America and International Accounting Groups, GP Services, and Fund Administration; rolls up to a collaborative Head of Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting focused on mentorship and growth. Will oversee a team. Part of a larger 80+ person group under the CFO’s umbrella.
- Hybrid 3/2 office / work from home structure (Boston, MA)
- Broad responsibilities include owning global US GAAP close governance (calendar, cut-offs, SLAs), leading technical analysis (ASC 606, ASC 842, VIEs, consolidations, impairments), managing external GAAP audits, building financial statement bridges from tax/statutory to US GAAP across jurisdictions, integrating systems (Workday, Investran, Partners Capital) for seamless data flow, implementing new standards, and representing the firm in industry groups.
- Highly visible position, with active business partnership across many groups such as: Tax, Legal, FP&A, Fund Administration, Compliance, and external auditors (Big Four support).

***Total Compensation package is approximately $350,000 – $450,000 annually.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience of financial reporting / technical accounting and consolidations, ideally within public accounting (Big Four) and global corporate environments
- CPA required; prior or current public accounting experience is highly preferred
- Proven leadership in US GAAP research (VIEs, consolidations), policy development, systems implementation (Workday Financials preferred), and cross-functional collaboration
- Understanding of Alternative Investment space (Private Equity) is helpful, but commercial industry experience is transferable given management company focus
- Impeccable professionalism, communication skills (presenting to senior leadership), and attention to detail – required.
