Manager, Fund Finance & Valuations – Leading PE Firm ($210k+ total comp)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Workspace Type: Hybrid
Base Salary: $130,000 - $155,000
We are looking for a Manager to join a premier technology-focused investment team within one of the most respected global alternative investment platforms. This is a unique opportunity to sit inside a small, lean, high-performing team that has the feel of an entrepreneurial growth equity shop, but with the brand, resources, and infrastructure of an A+ household name in private markets.
This team invests across some of the most exciting areas of technology, including application software, infrastructure and security, fintech and payments, and healthcare IT. The strategy supports high-growth technology companies across the journey from early growth to scale, including Series A/Series B-style growth rounds, minority and majority investments, structured securities, acquisition financing, and shareholder liquidity.
For the Finance team, that creates a much broader seat than a standard fund accounting role. Fund finance is the base, but this person will also gain exposure to valuation work, portfolio company financials, deal team interaction, investor reporting, fund flows, audit, operating metrics, and process improvement. The deal team is close to the finance function and is involved in the interview process, which speaks to how integrated this seat is with the broader investment platform.
This is an excellent fit for someone coming from public accounting, fund administration, an investment adviser, private equity, venture capital, credit, or alternative asset management who wants more than a narrow reporting role. The right person will enjoy wearing many hats, working directly with senior finance and investment professionals, and building a career in a high-growth technology investment strategy with real visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quarterly NAVs, capital account reporting, investor reporting, and related fund deliverables
- Partner with the Fund CFO and deal teams on quarterly valuation support and Valuation Committee materials
- Review quarterly financial statements, management fee calculations, carry calculations, and fund administrator work product
- Manage the year-end audit process and coordinate directly with external auditors and service providers
- Review portfolio company financials and help summarize key trends for internal reporting and portfolio review meetings
- Oversee cash availability, fund flows, liquidity needs, capital calls, distributions, and related fund activity
- Support Investor Relations on LP inquiries, diligence requests, fundraising materials, presentations, and data room content
- Review fund activity for consistency with partnership agreements and internal reporting requirements
- Drive process improvements, automation, reporting enhancements, and better use of data/technology across the finance function
- Support ad hoc projects across Finance, Operations, Investor Relations, Legal, and the broader investment team
Qualifications
- Experience in public accounting, fund administration, an investment adviser, asset management, private equity, venture capital, credit, or another relevant financial services environment
- Strong foundation in fund accounting, financial reporting, NAV review, capital activity, audit, or investor reporting
- Exposure to private funds, alternative investments, valuation support, or portfolio company reporting preferred
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred
- Strong Excel and analytical skills; experience with reporting, data visualization, automation, AI-enabled tools, or finance systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with deal teams, senior leadership, Investor Relations, auditors, fund administrators, and other cross-functional stakeholders
