IT Director, PE Business Systems

Base Salary: $190,000 - $215,000

A leading global investment firm is seeking an IT Director, PE Business Systems to join its technology team. This is a highly visible role supporting a sophisticated private equity platform, partnering closely with investment, finance, operations, and technology leadership to improve business systems, workflows, data usage, and technology-enabled decision-making.

This role is ideal for a senior IT/business systems leader who understands the buy-side asset management environment and can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The position will focus on identifying needs across the private equity business, shaping solutions, driving execution, and helping modernize the way teams use systems, data, automation, and emerging AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Business systems leadership: Partner with private equity stakeholders to understand business needs, assess current-state workflows, and translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
  • Private markets technology execution: Lead and support technology initiatives across investment, finance, operations, reporting, and data-related workstreams.
  • Stakeholder management: Serve as a key liaison between senior business leaders, technology teams, external vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and reduce manual effort across the private equity platform.
  • AI and automation: Support the thoughtful use of AI, automation, prompt engineering, AI APIs, or low-code tools to improve business processes and user productivity.
  • Project leadership: Drive complex initiatives from discovery through delivery, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, rollout, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
  • Technology roadmap support: Help shape future-state systems strategy for the private equity business in partnership with senior technology and business leadership.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience of business analysis, systems analysis, product ownership, or technology leadership experience within buy-side asset management, private markets, or a similar financial services environment
  • Prior experience supporting private equity, growth equity, private markets, investment operations, fund finance, portfolio monitoring, deal teams, or related investment workflows strongly preferred
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions
  • Strong understanding of systems, data, workflows, reporting, integrations, and technology delivery
  • Exposure to AI tools, prompt engineering, AI APIs, workflow automation, or low-code development tools preferred
  • Hands-on, business-facing mindset with the ability to operate strategically while still staying close to execution
