Senior Associate, Accounting & Finance – Global Investments

We are partnering with a large, established financial services organization on a Senior Accounting opportunity in Rhode Island.

This role sits within a corporate accounting and controllership team supporting a major financial services business. The Senior Accountant will have broad exposure across general ledger accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, regulatory reporting, audit support, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, while working closely with finance leaders and business partners across the organization.

Compensation

• Up to $100K base salary
• 15% target annual bonus

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities across assigned business areas and legal entities
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Prepare financial statement reporting and communicate results to management
• Support quarterly regulatory reporting requirements
• Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
• Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end reviews
• Partner with business and finance teams to ensure transactions are accounted for accurately
• Maintain appropriate accounting controls and supporting documentation
• Perform account and cost analysis and identify trends across financial statement line items
• Prepare analysis and reporting for management, auditors, regulators, and business partners
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
• Participate in special projects and broader finance initiatives

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting experience
• Strong candidates with 2+ years of Big 4/public accounting experience will also be considered
• Experience within banking, brokerage, asset management, financial services, corporate accounting, or public accounting is highly valued
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial accounting principles, and internal controls
• Experience preparing or auditing financial statements
• Experience working with external auditors
• Strong account reconciliation and financial analysis skills
• Ability to identify trends and explain changes in financial results
• Comfortable managing multiple deadlines during month-end and quarter-end close
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Hands-on working style with the ability to operate independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of broader business objectives
• Interest in process improvement and strengthening accounting and reporting workflows
