Senior Associate, Private Markets Fund Finance
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Workspace Type: Hybrid
Base Salary: $95,000 - $115,000
We are looking for a Senior Associate to join a high-performing Private Markets Finance team within one of the world’s most respected alternative investment platforms. The group supports a flexible investment strategy spanning both private equity and private credit, with exposure to some of the platform’s most complex and non-traditional transactions.
This is a broader and more technical seat than traditional fund accounting. The team is brought into investments that often cross asset classes and require an understanding of transaction structure, fund economics, accounting, legal agreements, tax considerations, and reporting. The work is varied, and the team is regularly asked to figure out new situations where the answer is not obvious.
The group is lean, selective, and known for taking on difficult work. The Senior Associate will work closely with experienced finance leadership while partnering across Investment Operations, Investor Relations, Tax, FP&A, technology, fund administrators, auditors, and investment teams.
There is also a strong focus on automation, data, and AI, making this a great fit for someone who wants more variety, more complexity, and broader exposure across private markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund reporting and accounting: Prepare and review financial statements, P&L and NAV reporting, allocation packages, investor capital reporting, and other recurring fund deliverables.
- Complex investments and transactions: Support the accounting, reporting, and financial implications of investments spanning private equity, private credit, structured capital, and other bespoke or non-traditional transactions.
- Fund economics and capital activity: Work across capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest, expenses, allocations, and other key fund mechanics.
- Investor reporting: Support investor deliverables, tax workbooks, K-1 processes, intercompany reporting, and a variety of complex and time-sensitive ad hoc requests.
- Cross-functional partnership: Work closely with Investment Operations, Investor Relations, FP&A, Accounting Operations, Tax, technology teams, and investment professionals on both recurring responsibilities and strategic initiatives.
- Problem solving: Work through new or unusual investment structures where the appropriate accounting, reporting, or operational treatment may require independent analysis and judgment.
- Automation and process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline recurring workflows, improve reporting, and build more scalable finance processes.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience within public accounting, audit, tax, alternative asset management, or another rigorous financial environment
- Strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, audit, tax, fund finance, or alternative investments
- Interest in gaining exposure across both private equity and private credit and developing expertise in complex investment structures
- Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, CFA, or equivalent qualification a plus
