Location: Surfside, FL (onsite only; private office)
Schedule: Flexible

Summary:
A top boutique staffing firm is hiring a contract AI Automation Engineer to help build and deploy a suite of internal AI-enabled workflows that improve operational speed, quality, and consistency across recruiting and content operations. You will work directly onsite with the founder (domain expert) to iterate rapidly, validate outputs in real time, and implement high-impact automations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building reliable “agent-like” automation systems (multi-step workflows that use tools/APIs), and who also has practical experience improving website technical foundations for SEO and AI search visibility (AEO).
Responsibilities:
- Build and deploy internal AI-driven workflows (agentic pipelines) that automate repetitive operational tasks.
- Design a modular architecture that supports:
- multiple AI providers/models over time (cloud today; potential on-prem/local later)
- cost controls (routing, batching, caching, and bounded tool use)
- strict output formatting (schemas/validation) to ensure consistent, usable results
- Implement secure integrations with business systems (email, internal data sources, web CMS/tools) without exposing sensitive details.
- Improve website technical performance and content structure to support stronger SEO and AI search visibility (AEO).
- Create documentation and handoff materials so the system can be maintained and extended.
Must-have skills:
- Strong backend engineering ability (Python and/or TypeScript/Node).
- Proven experience building production automations with external systems (APIs, webhooks, auth, rate limits).
- Experience implementing LLM workflows that call tools and follow strict output requirements (schemas/validators).
- Comfortable setting up and shipping in a cloud environment (Azure or AWS).
- Practical understanding of technical SEO fundamentals (site performance, indexing, internal linking, schema/structured data)
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience building model-agnostic “LLM provider” layers (so models can be swapped later).
- Experience with retrieval/search systems (embeddings/vector search, reranking).
- Experience with CMS automation/publishing pipelines (WordPress or similar).
- Familiarity with security best practices (secrets management, least privilege, audit logs).
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Please include your desired rate.
Confidentiality / IP:
NDA required. Work product is owned by the company. This position involves sensitive internal workflows and data.
How to apply:
Please send:
- Resume / LinkedIn
- 2–3 relevant examples (automation systems, agentic workflows, integrations, SEO/tech improvements)
- Your onsite availability in Surfside, FL and preferred schedule option
- Desired hourly rate
